Status Updates:The Wizard's Cat is still on the prowl and he's taking the Butler with him. What's Next:The Wizard's Cat Future Ishmael Future Tanyth Fairport What I'm Reading: I dug into the space opera this month and spent most of it with Jaxon Reed. I enjoyed his Star Farmer series so much I thought I'd give another of his series a go. I'm glad I did. The titular character - Gina Wilcox - gets thrown into the deep end of the detective pool and starts breaking heads and rules in equal measure when she's released from military service. She tackles everything from corrupt officials to blackmarketeers, and everything in between. The phrase "over the top" doesn't begin to cover it, but if you're good with badder than life bad guys and good guys who aren't afraid to bend the rules, you might like this campy, pulpy, "get a bigger gun" space opera. But as always, don't take my word for it. Grab a sample and see what you think. Looking Ahead: The windows are in. We still need to re-hang the drapes but we're all just so tired from the holidays and the build up to the Big Event that we've barely been able to get out of our own ways. I am hoping to get the last stray hairs of the Cat off my desk soon. I've been spending a lot of time recovering from the combination of publication, holidays, and remodeling. Yet, I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking more seriously about what comes next for Shackleford House and what parts our motley band of characters will play. Until next month, then, safe voyage. -NL Remember Beta Readers: Every so often, I put out a call for beta readers. I'm going to be fine tuning this process going forward but if you'd like to be considered for future works, then click this link. And thanks.
