Status Updates:Finally, The Wizard's Cat has been released from his cage. What's Next:The Wizard's Cat Future Ishmael Future Tanyth Fairport What I'm Reading: I stopped in at the Wandering Inn for book 17 and caught up on a few other series over the last month. Nothing new except for this author that kept showing up in various recommendations - including from you. A. K. DuBoff's Starship of the Ancients series. A trope I like - found space ship with a friendly AI (fiction, of course) - and a plucky hero who finds himself caught up in an interstellar conflict between good and evil. I'm not sure who represents which faction yet. A tribute to DuBoff's skill as writer. Love the characters, even the ones I hate. The world building is first rate. The plot has more twists than a jar of Twislers, but I'm here for it But don't take my word for it. Maybe grab a sample of Stranded and see for yourself. Looking Ahead: The next month will be hectic here at Casa de Lowell. The usual holiday shenanigans with a major remodeling effort on the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. We've been chipping away at the prep work. The workman will arrive on the 28th to replace all the windows and external doors in the house. Yeah. I've done this once with a previous house and it's just as bad as you might imagine. We've done most of the outside prep work to make the windows accessible (pruning bushes and taking down awnings), but there are some details we'll be doing over the weekend before along with all the last minute moving of pretty much everything in the kitchen and most of the living room. After that, my plan is to collapse. Perhaps I'll have some solid plans by the next time I write but I'm not in any hurry to rush into a project yet. We'll see. Until then, safe voyage. -NL Remember Beta Readers: Every so often, I put out a call for beta readers. These are people who are willing to read the work in progress in a short period of time with only the briefest of notices. I'm going to be fine tuning this process going forward but if you'd like to be considered for future works, then click this link. And thanks. Fine Tuning: Would you prefer to get ONLY new release notices?YES, PLEASE Note: Newsletter people will get New Release notices, too, but |

Status Updates: Finally, I'm beginning to find the edges of the story this needs to be. What's Next: The Wizard's Next ThingIt has been a productive month in terms of story, if not actual word counts. Many, many words have been put down - in both senses of the word. I put them down on the page and then erased them again. It feels a little self defeating, but in truth, that's how this sausage gets made. What seems like a good idea doesn't always stand up once I see it playing out. Everything...
Status Updates: I had high hopes for high word counts by now. What's Next: The Wizard's Next ThingWhile the word counts aren't there, the movie in my head has started playing. It's more like a one real, black and white silent film at the moment but it's more narrative than I had before. The Wizard's CatThe audio edition has dropped.Everything ElseNo changes. I still want to get back to the Deep Dark. Still want to revisit Tanyth. Still want to work with EJ to get back to the steppes. What I'm...
